Café Canna is an award-winning little restaurant and bar on the shores of the remote and beautiful Hebridean Isle of Canna.

Our dishes are almost entirely sourced from our surrounds - seafood from our waters, seaweed from our shores, meat from the farm, game from the hill and vegetables from the gardens. We even make our own beer!

We're open throughout the day/evening in the Summer months (see opening hours).

THE BOOK

"The Hebridean cookbook we've been waiting for" Ailsa Sheldon Herald food critic

Published by Birlinn books, within you'll find the recipes for our absolute favourite Café Canna dishes, along with instructions for dealing with all of the ingredients, written by somebody that learned the hard way. There's a bit about the island and running a restaurant on it, as well as some incredible images from the amazing Simon Hird.

Getting here

Ferry

There are sailings every day except Tuesday and Thursday. It's a stunning trip from Mallaig, with regular wildlife sightings as well as views of Skye, the Cullins, and the other Small Isles (Muck, Eigg, Rum).

On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a return service, offering the chance to visit Canna for the day.

By Sail / boat

Canna bay is one of the best and most sheltered in the vicinity. We have 10 visitor moorings (pay at the community shop), and holding is good on thick mud (although dig in well as there is some kelp). Which ever direction you're coming from - Outer Hebrides, Mull, Skye or mainland it's a fantastic and rewarding sail.

You can get us on Channel 8 to reserve your table (or if you need help).

Private charter

A number of private operators can help you get to Canna.
